Description
IRA Flying Column outfit
We have now completed our work on our Anglo Irish War uniforms and they are available to order
The IRA Flying columns were formed to fight the British using hit and run and ambush tactics. One of their most famous successes being the Kilmichael ambush of the 28th November 1920 where, led by Tom Barry, they ambushed a party of Auxies, killing 17 and seriously wounding 1.
As the IRA Flying columns were made up of civilians, there outfits differed greatly, here we have portrayed a generic outfit worn by a member of the West Cork Brigade
